Moz Xingu

In accordance with the Executive Summary of the PDRS of the Xingu calls the attention the energy potential the region, where according to Brazilian Power plants in 2003, the value of the hidroelectric potential of sub-basin 18 (River Xingu, Irir, Par) are of 12,7% (22592,92 MW) of the potential inventoried in the Country, in way that the same one not yet was used. The summary also calls the attention for the potentialities mineral and forest the region, which in regular or illegal way explores lumber and mineralgicos resources of systematic form.

The GIP of the region is concentrated by the cities of Altamira and Uruar with 53,6% in 2005, being, therefore, the cities most dynamic economically, still in accordance with the summary, the region presents high potentiality for the exploration of its natural resources, with vocation for the farming one, prominence for the activities of temporary and permanent, cattle farming of cut, forest exploration, wood and furniture, which if reveal in the set of cities of the region. The region possessed a great diversity of isolated aboriginal ethnic groups, aldeados, city dwellers, in edges of igaraps, the great return of the Xingu, possessing aboriginal associations, beyond remainders of quilombos, over all in the city of Port of Moz and Pacaj. Distribution of income, access the social security by means of education services, social assistance, health, habitation, basic sanitation, public security among others, present alarming negative indices, according to data of diverse governmental bodies, in special for IGBE and PNAD, inside of a so complex context of social, economic, cultural and ambient relations. In this direction we evidence a manifest inaquality in diverse aspects, which had been registered in the Executive Summary of the PDRS Xingu, what it takes in them conclusion that the question of the ambient support depends on the simultaneous confrontation of the deriving ambient problems of the poverty and wealth, Philippe Pomier Layrargues synthecizes this question affirms to it that: The manifest inaquality not if only in economic terms of income distribution.
